We make books for people who show affection by taking the piss.

Scottish insults, Granny sayings and the sort of humour that gets read out across the room. That’s our kind of gift.

Why we do it

Some things sound better in Scots.

A good Scottish insult does a lot with a few words. A daft mistake gets you called a tumshie. Granny has a saying for the occasion. And someone, somewhere, is trying not to laugh.

That’s the humour we put on the page. We pair Scots with English translations and illustrations, so you can enjoy the joke whether you grew up hearing it or you’ve never been called a bawbag in your life.

The book

Volume 2 puts 73 insults and 30 Granny sayings into 136 pages, with room for a few surprises. Read a bit, pass it round, and see who comes to mind. It fits in your pocket. Contains swearing and adult humour.
